Supporting the promotion of hotel village models (albergo diffuso) in the Drina Valley
The project aims to support the environmental, social and economic development of the Drina Valley, which is located within the National Park of Sutjeska, through actions that encourage the local sustainable development by involving the final recipients into the discussion about the innovation of regional policies for cultural landscapes.
The methodology adopted for this project will focus on the overall process especially on the promotion of new models of hospitality. It will take as reference the “albergo diffuso” model and it will involve the local stakeholders in the definition and identification of both the problems and the solutions.
The main steps of the project are the following:
> Drafting of the inventory of the traditional rural buildings – katun – of the Drina Valley;
> Drafting of guidelines for the rehabilitation works to be integrated into the Conservation and Development Plan of the National Park of Sutjeska;
> Development of a detailed project for the construction of one or more buildings inspired by traditional katuns;
> Capacity-building for project’s recipients.
