The project’s objective is the protection and enhancement of environmental resources in Argentina through a reduction of the negative impacts on the environment produced by municipal solid waste (MSW). The activities in Catamarca involve the design and implementation of a communication campaign and an urban island for the collection of municipal solid waste using participatory methodologies and the game tool “Kallipoly – a game for a better city”. An international competition for artists on the issues of environmental protection and reuse of waste lead to the creation of some elements of street furniture from recycled material such as identifying elements of the urban islands for recycling.
