The project deals with urban regeneration in six suburbs or abandoned areas of six municipalities of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
LARU 2017 will analyze how art and culture could become catalysts of innovation and activation of citizens in the regeneration processes of suburban areas.
In particular, the project will focus its actions on marginal areas of the cities characterised by an important presence of residential public buildings and on neglected areas to be converted, characterized by a strong potential in line with a strategic vision of territory development.
The activities envisaged by the project are:
– Urban diagnostic: quantitative and qualitative data collection using a participatory approach as a tool of territorial analysis;
– Artist residencies : artists and community testimonials united in an innovative dialogue for the realization of a public artwork;
– cultural Hackathon: from the local scale of neighborhoods to an international level debate on urban regeneration topics;
– Cross-disciplinary activities in accordance with the didactics and university research of the Department of Architecture of the Universities of Trieste, Udine and Vienna.
This project is financed by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia – L.R. 16/2014
